Yes! All of UNREAL’s dark chocolate nut-butter cups, coconut bars, dark chocolate gems, and dark chocolate covered almonds are vegan. They’re certified by the Vegan Action Group. None of the ingredients in the products listed come from animals or animal by-products. We never test on animals, either. The sugars used in these products have not been processed with bone char. 

Within the UNREAL product line, the exceptions are our milk chocolate gems, dark chocolate caramel peanut nougat bars, milk chocolate covered pretzels, and dark chocolate covered pretzels. Those four products contain dairy and are not vegan.

No. While the ingredients in our vegan-certified products are not made from animals or animal by-products, nor are they tested on animals, they are manufactured in a facility that also makes milk chocolate products. The line is completely cleaned after runs of dark chocolate and milk chocolate, but we cannot promise that our vegan treats are 100% free of any milk proteins.

We recently updated our Dark Chocolate Caramel Peanut Nougat Bar recipe to a certified gluten-free recipe! While we are so excited about the update, it's important to note that not all of our Dark Chocolate Caramel Peanut Nougat Bars in the world right now are certified gluten free.

Our Dark Chocolate Caramel Peanut Nougat Bars that do not have a gluten free logo on the individual bar wrapper are not gluten free and still contain gluten ingredients. Our Dark Chocolate Caramel Peanut Nougat Bars that do showcase the gluten free logo on the individual bar wrapper are certified gluten free!

Please note, we still manufacture all of our products in facilities that handle wheat, however, each of our Gluten Free Certified products have been certified by the GFCO to contain less than 10ppm of gluten.

Our six certified gluten-free products are made in facilities that handle wheat. However, the Gluten Intolerance Group’s certification means that the Gluten Intolerance Group has certified our products to fall under their 10PPM gluten threshold.

Some of our products contain peanuts and/or tree nuts. Please check the ingredients panel on each individual product to find out if it contains peanuts or tree nuts. We cannot guarantee that our products are completely free of peanuts or tree nuts because they are made in facilities that also manufacture products with peanuts and/or tree nuts.

All UNREAL products are free of soy ingredients. However, we cannot guarantee that our products are 100% soy free because they are made in facilities that manufacture products containing soy.

Currently, nine of our eleven items are non-GMO project certified! The only items that do not fall under this category are our Milk Chocolate Gems and Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels.

While our Milk Chocolate products do not contain GMOs, the non-GMO project requires milk to be organic in order to be non-GMO project certified. However, we are proud to use clean, rbst-free milk in our Milk Chocolate products. Rbst-free means that no artificial hormones were used in this milk.

The issue of genetic modification is incredibly important to us. We are continuously innovating and exploring ways to get back to using organic milk so that all our products can be non-Gmo project certified. Visit https://www.nongmoproject.org to learn more.

Yes! Every product in our line uses Fair Trade certified chocolate, which means that the farmers who grow our cocoa are guaranteed to receive a minimum price for their cocoa beans. They also have safe working conditions and sustainable wages, along with Fair Trade premiums used to invest in community development. Those premiums are often used for leadership training, scholarships, and schools. Fair Trade farms do not permit child labor, slave labor, GMOs, or harmful chemicals. Although we are not certified organic, many of the ingredients we use are organic. Read the ingredients panel on each product to find out which ingredients are organic!

Yes! Our gems are colored by nature! We use real ingredients, like beets for our pink and spirulina for our blue, to color our gems. We will never use chemical dyes or use artificial brightening agents either. Just real, natural, colorful ingredients.

We use Blue Agave Inulin as a prebiotic fiber in our nut-butter cups and our gems. We do not recommend these products for those who have an inulin sensitivity. For those who are avoiding this ingredient, our Dark Chocolate Coconut Bars and Dark Chocolate Caramel Peanut Nougat Bars are both made without inulin as an ingredient.

Our products are made in the USA and Canada.

We recommend you consume UNREAL by the date printed on the packaging. Like any natural food, UNREAL chocolate snacks will taste best the fresher they are!

We recommend storing UNREAL at a temperature below 68 degrees F, below 55% humidity and away from direct sunlight. During summer or in warmer climates if the temperature is above 68 degrees F in your home, we recommend storing them in the refrigerator to prevent melting. When storing in the refrigerator, always make sure to take the product out and let it warm back up to anywhere between 55 and 68 degrees before eating for the best taste experience!

Orders placed before 9am EST on Wednesday will ship the same week. Orders placed after 9am EST on Wednesday will likely ship out the following Monday. Please note that during peak ordering seasons, it may take longer for your order to be processed. Keep an eye out for disclaimers on our website that let you know if certain products may not be able to ship right away. Once your order is processed and ready to ship, it will be sent out via FedEx 2-day Express (Ground or Air, depending on your proximity to our shipping facilities). In the summer months, all UNREAL products are shipped in temperature controlled bio-liners with ice packs to ensure you receive your chocolate melt-free!

We charge a flat rate $4.99 on orders under $30 in the contiguous US. Orders at or over $30 have free shipping within the contiguous US. You also have the option to pay for 2-day air shipping to ensure your snacks arrive ASAP. The cost of shipping to AK and HI varies, depending on the weight of the shipment.

We do not accept returns as we will never resell our snacks once shipped to a consumer.  However if you have an issue with your order, please reach out to us through our contact us form so we can find a solution.

For all of our orders, we do not ship products with less than 55 days of shelf life remaining. All of our snacks will ship out with at least 55 days before hitting the best-by date.
