Voluntary Recall of Costco Canada Dark Chocolate Coconut Bars

We have chosen to initiate a recall after detecting salmonella in a batch of dark chocolate coconut bars. Although that affected product has never left our production facility, we chose to recall all product with nearby production dates, out of an abundance of caution.

Salmonella was never detected in any product that was shipped or sold. The reason why we have decided to initiate this recall is because we think it’s the right thing to do.

Which product is affected?

This voluntary recall only affects specific Dark Chocolate Coconut Bars sold in Canadian Costco locations. No product sold in the United States is impacted.

You can find the best buy date on the back of the packaging, and on the fold of the wrapper of each individual coconut bar, as shown by the red boxes below.

If your product is included in the recall, do not use the product. Please return it to your local Costco for a full refund.

No. Other UNREAL products are not impacted by this recall.

Is there any chance the Dark Chocolate Coconut bars that I purchased in the United States are impacted by this recall?

No.

What is UNREAL doing?

Since we were made aware of these results, we have eliminated the suspect variables for future productions and we are taking multiple additional corrective and preventative measures.
